I have three cats and this is their favorite toy ever. It is sturdy enough to play with them as long as it's supervised, and they love biting silicone. It's easy to switch their attention over if they get into something they shouldn't! If your chaos gremlins are silicone chewers like mine, try playing with them with a PurrChase toy when they're determined to snack on your AC adapter straps.

Safe and provides good entertainment for kitty

Great fun but needs to be two or 3 inches longer then would be fabulous fun

My cat goes crazy for this toy

This toy is fantastic. It moves like a real rats tail, which really triggers my cat’s hunting instinct and she goes absolutely wild for it. I’ve had it over a month now and have let her have a play with it several times a day, nearly everyday and she hasn’t yet tired of it. This is a huge plus as I’m sick of buying expensive toys which she plays with a first but then quickly gets bored of and then ignores. It’s fairly sturdy too. She has bitten the end off, where the silicone is very narrow but it hasn’t ruined her enjoyment and she happily plays with the slightly stumpy tail remaining just as energetically. I don’t know if replacement silicone tails are available, without having to buy the handle part of the toy too but it would be a good idea to have this option.
